I was born in Lynwood, CA and grew up in Huntington Park, a city in Los Angeles County. My upbringing was very community centered, meaning that I was always surrounded by family and friends. I attended small private schools throughout my middle and high school years, and moved to Washington to attend UW after deciding that I needed a change of pace. Adjusting to Seattle was hard, especially because I learned that my motivation mainly comes from close friends and family, all of which were back in California. However, I learned to navigate myself in Seattle, made some good friends and found out what my true passions were — community building, social justice, and spending time with those closest to me. After graduation, I plan to continue working in Seattle throughout the summer and I will move back to L.A. in the beginning of September, where I hope to work for the City of Downey.
